Job summary

Lakeshore Village Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. Duties include preparing meals in large quantities, following menus, and ensuring sanitary, safe food preparation and documentation.

Must obtain ServSafe certification and have hospital or long-term care cooking experience. The role requires ability to read recipes and follow dietary restrictions, with teamwork across departments and adherence to cleaning schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year hospital/long-term care cook experience.
• Must obtain ServSafe Certificate.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures.
• Ability to follow prepared menus and portion control guides.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow menus.
• Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor and assist staff as needed.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and report concerns to administration.
