Job summary

MBK Senior Living is seeking a PRN Cook to provide high-quality meals for residents, following planned menus and recipes. The Cook oversees kitchen operations under the direction of the Director of Dining Services and Executive Chef, ensuring meals are nutritious, fresh, and well-presented.

You must hold a High School Diploma or GED, and current Food Handler’s and ServSafe certifications. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Food Handler’s Certification/Permit, required.
• Current ServSafe Certification required.
• Culinary Arts degree or formal vocational training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items per planned menus and recipes, ensuring quality, nutrition, and dietary compliance.
• Stocking and inventory management per recipes and policies.
• Follow government, sanitary, and dietitian regulations and report infractions.
• Maintain proper temperatures and portion sizes for servings.
• Maintain clean, sanitary workstation and HACCP compliance.
• Interact professionally with residents, guests, and staff; seek feedback.
• Coordinate with Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef on menu changes.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and record temperatures; report issues.
