Job summary

Advocate Health in Wilkes Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant I to support telemetry/progressive care. This part-time, PRN position offers variable shifts and requires patient care assistance, documentation, and collaboration with the nursing team.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, ensuring infection prevention, and providing safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a North Carolina State-approved Nurse Aide I course.
• Registered as a Nurse Aide I with the NC DHHS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PEARS may be required within one year in select areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical staff with patient preparation, exams, procedures and vital signs.
• Participate in implementing the nursing process under supervision.
• Set up and maintain examination rooms with proper equipment.
• Communicate patient information clearly within the healthcare team.
• Collect and process specimens for testing per policy.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Maintain competency for point of care testing as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff.
• Pursue professional development and adhere to infection prevention policies.
• Provide age- and developmentally appropriate care.
