Job summary

Wayne UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the 7th Floor Telemetry. The role supports adult patients with cardiac and general medical conditions, providing basic nursing skills under RN/LPN supervision.

Responsibilities include vital signs, personal care, feeding assistance, and accurate documentation. Prior experience preferred; NC CNA I registry and BLS certification required; on-site night shifts with a 36-hour week.

Qualifications

• Completion of state approved Level I Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; any higher education will supersede.
• Current listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I registry.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care according to unit standards.
• Measures vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure.
• Assists with bathing, nutrition, and personal care tasks.
• Assists with elimination needs and specimen collection as directed.
• Documents care accurately and communicates with the RN/LPN.
• Maintains infection control practices and a safe environment.
