Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a PRN Clinical Staff Pharmacist to work rotating variable shifts as needed. The role involves reviewing medication orders, counseling patients, and collaborating with clinicians to ensure optimal pharmacotherapy.

Required BS or PharmD, at least 1 year of pharmacy experience, and licensure by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Inpatient roles may require additional certifications such as ACPE-IV sterile compounding and BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: BS or PharmD degree.
• Experience: 1 year of pharmacy experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Texas State Board of Pharmacy licensure, ACPE-IV Sterile Compounding, BLS, and advanced life support requirements if inpatient.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in accordance with policies and standards.
• Reviews medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness and safety.
• Communicates drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Manages technicians and supports pharmaceutical operations.
• Participates in P&T and cost-effective drug use and documentation.
