Job summary

Moelis Private Capital Advisory (PCA) is seeking an Associate to gain exposure to all aspects of a live primary fundraise, from mandate evaluation and GP due diligence through final close. You will work with senior professionals to drive process and provide strategic advice to fund manager clients.

The role involves driving GP evaluation, preparing marketing materials, managing investor roadshows, maintaining the data room, and coordinating with GP counsel and fund administrators.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, primary fund placement, or fund of funds.
• Strong understanding of the private equity industry and primary fundraising market.
• Motivated with a strong desire to learn; keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive GP evaluation and due diligence, assessing portfolio, strategy, and management.
• Prepare fund marketing materials and review fund economics for accuracy.
• Manage investor roadshows and GP client support through multiple closes.
• Own data room and document flow for active fundraising campaigns.
• Coordinate with senior distribution bankers to track investor feedback and pipeline.
• Oversee LP due diligence responses and follow up to secure commitments.
• Supervise analysts on fund closings, terms, and LP investor profiles.
• Serve as primary contact for institutional investors throughout the fundraise.
• Conduct primary market research on fundraising volumes and LP trends.
• Support business development by identifying new GP fundraising mandates.
