Job summary

Moelis Private Capital Advisory in New York seeks an Associate to gain exposure to live primary fundraises, from mandate evaluation to final close, working with senior professionals to advise fund managers. You will support GP due diligence, prepare marketing materials, manage data rooms, coordinate investor roadshows, and interact with institutional investors across pension plans and endowments.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in IB/PE, strong analytical skills, and the ability to mentor

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking or private equity.
• Strong understanding of the private equity industry and primary fundraising.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and CRMs such as Salesforce or DealCloud.

Responsibilities

• Drive GP evaluation and due diligence workstreams and translate findings into fund positioning.
• Oversee preparation of fund marketing materials and review fund economics for accuracy and market positioning.
• Manage investor roadshows and GP client support through rounds of closings.
• Own the data room and documentation flow for active fundraising campaigns.
• Work with senior bankers to track investor feedback and report fundraising pipeline.
• Supervise analysts on databases of fund closings, terms, and LP investor profiles.
• Serve as a primary contact for institutional investors throughout the fundraise.
• Conduct market research on fundraising volumes, fund terms, and LP allocation trends.
