Job summary

The role reports to the Correctional Associate Warden for Operations, developing plans, coordinating activities with staff and the community, and ensuring accessibility for inmates with restrictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or criminal justice.
• One year of experience in corrections or related work.
• Must be eligible for certification by the NC CJET Standards Commission.
• Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the recreational program.
• Develop a comprehensive annual recreation plan to promote well-being.
• Coordinate with community agencies to enrich programs and services.
• Oversee staff and offenders during recreation programs and events.
• Ensure access for offenders with disabilities and restricted housing to all activities.
