Qualifications

• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Relevant recreation or physical education experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Military or related recreation activities can substitute for college.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate recreational activities for inmates in a large facility.
• Consult with staff to plan programs for residents.
• Gather information on offender interests to tailor activities.
• Supervise gymnasium sanitation, equipment maintenance and supply inventories.
• Attend institutional meetings and prepare various reports.
• Direct leagues, tournaments and holiday events for inmate populations.
