Job summary

North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks a Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III (NS) to lead the maintenance division of a 750-bed facility. Responsibilities include supervising journey-level staff and offender labor, planning daily work, and enforcing safety standards.

The role requires knowledge of building trades, codes, schematics, and project management. Candidates will oversee budgeting, preventive maintenance programs, and training on OSHA requirements for staff and

Qualifications

• Documentation of work knowledge in commercial/industrial maintenance.
• Knowledge of buildings, plumbing and electrical codes.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and as-built drawings.
• Knowledge of project management, estimating materials and costs.
• Ability to work in a diverse environment and ensure OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, assign and monitor maintenance work.
• Supervise journey level staff and offender labor.
• Provide safety training (OSHA) for staff and offenders.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance program and web-based work orders.
• Manage fixed assets and tool control; coordinate with vendors and utility providers.
• Assist with maintenance budget line items.
