Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a maintenance professional to perform routine, preventive, and corrective tasks in a correctional facility. duties include servicing water, HVAC, electrical systems, and assisting with supervising staff and offenders as needed.

Position is full-time (40 hours/week) with state benefits; may require EPA Type I–III or Universal certification and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of methods, practices, tools, and/or materials used in general maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery.
• EPA certification may be required by regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair systems within an adult correctional facility and support buildings.
• Service and repair potable and wastewater drainage systems, water heating, circulating loops, fixtures, and electrical components.
• Repair commercial kitchen equipment and minor building repairs (interior and exterior).
• Service HVAC systems and controls; supervise skilled and unskilled labor as needed.
