Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a qualified Building Maintenance Specialist for the ASPC-Safford/Tonto Unit. The role involves daily facility maintenance, repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, kitchen equipment, and utility systems.

Responsibilities include planning projects, executing preventive maintenance, documenting activities, supervising inmate workers, and adhering to safety and policy requirements within a prison environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building utility systems, blueprints, safety practices and codes.
• Trades include electronic, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance.
• Budgeting and estimating costs, and ordering materials.
• Use of common and specialized tools for maintenance tasks.
• Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and building codes/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and plan maintenance projects with pricing, materials and equipment needs.
• Perform maintenance and preventative tasks as scheduled.
• Complete required documentation according to policy and supervision.
• Inspect and maintain tools/equipment for proper operation.
• Supervise inmate workers and provide performance evaluations.
• Attend staff meetings and training; perform other duties as assigned.
• Drive on state business and perform related duties.
