ARIOZNA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, REHABILIATION & RENENTRY invites applications for the Physical Plant Supervisor I position at Arizona State Prison Complex – Safford. The role oversees general facility maintenance, plans and directs inmate crews, and reads blueprints to prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates.

Applicants must read and apply knowledge in multiple trades, safety codes, and budgeting while maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Supervisory principles and techniques including employee relations and work schedule.
• Blueprint reading and safety codes knowledge.
• Trades knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and preventive maintenance.
• Budgeting and estimating costs for maintenance projects.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft and Google suites.
• Familiarity with national and local building codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs the activities of subordinates and inmate crews.
• Reads blueprints, performs material take-offs, cost estimates, and bid specs.
• Calculates cost estimates within budget constraints.
• Establishes preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment.
• Maintains records on equipment, repairs, and maintenance.
• Completes related documentation and drives state vehicles.
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.
