You will read blueprints, estimate material needs, prepare cost quotes, and write bid specs while managing preventative maintenance schedules.

The role requires coordinating with trades across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems, ensuring safety and cost efficiency in a correctional facility environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance staff and inmate crews.
• Ability to read blueprints and develop cost estimates.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, and directs activities of subordinates and inmate crews.
• Reads blueprints, performs material take-offs, cost estimates, and written bid specifications.
• Calculates cost estimates for maintenance/construction projects within budget.
• Establishes and carries out preventative maintenance schedules on equipment and facilities.
• Maintains records on equipment, repairs, and maintenance.
• Completes related documentation and drives on State business.
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.
