Job summary

Emplify Health, in partnership with Gundersen Health System, is hiring a Prior Authorization Specialist to obtain pre-certifications and authorizations for services ordered by insurance.

Work is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with remote eligibility after in-person training in Onalaska, WI. 1–2 years in healthcare with insurance or prior authorization is preferred; high attention to detail and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• 1-2 years' experience in healthcare with insurance or prior authorization.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Coding experience and certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain necessary pre-certifications and authorizations for services ordered/scheduled from insurance.
• Coordinate with hospital departments and insurance companies to secure approvals.

We are looking for a Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team! In this role you will work with hospital departments and insurance companies to obtain the necessary pre-certifications and authorizations for services ordered/scheduled from insurance. Attention to detail, strong communication, and computer and phone skills are important!

Job Specifics:

• Full time, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours/week
• Monday-Friday, hours between 7 am -5 pm, 8-hour shifts
• Remote eligible after training in-person in Onalaska, WI
• Specialize in prior authorization for Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy

What You Need:

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• 1-2 years' experience in healthcare with insurance or prior authorization experience required
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Coding experience and certifications is a plus!
