Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Principal Designer to define the look, feel and identity of our merchant products. You will own the visual direction for DashOS, shaping a cohesive UI across hardware and surfaces, and you’ll prototype with React and AI tools to ship with fidelity.

You will mentor designers, collaborate with engineers and product managers, and contribute to a scalable design system that enables teams to work faster and learn from shared patterns.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating top-tier visual craft across brands and styles.
• Experience leading visual direction for a product area and adoption by teams.
• Ability to work with React, TypeScript or similar, and use AI tools to refine UI.

Responsibilities

• Set the visual direction for merchant products across DashOS.
• Own the visual foundation of the design system: tokens, components, rules and examples.
• Design for new surfaces (POS, handhelds, agentic experiences) where no paradigm exists.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to ship prototypes and production-ready UI.
