Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Senior UX Designer to influence product and design decisions across customer and employee-facing applications. You will own initiatives from inception through implementation within a cross-functional team, guiding strategy and scalable design.

You will collaborate with design systems, mentor designers, advocate for accessibility, and stay ahead of trends in web and app design, including AI. This on-site role sits at the DFW HQ with travel perks and benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in visual communication / design, interactive design, HCI or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years as a UX practitioner with large or matrixed organizations.
Experience collaborating with engineers in an agile environment.
Experience across disciplines, product lines, time zones and geographies.
Experience with remote/unmoderated testing tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

Influence leadership and set a vision to enable design at scale.
Partner with design systems to define standards, process, and governance for reuse.
Present work clearly to stakeholders using storytelling and visuals.
Mentor designers to deliver data-driven, customer-centric designs.
Manage interdependencies to maintain consistent experiences across channels.
Develop design strategies and lead ideation and exploration activities.
Champion accessibility and inclusive design.
Oversee design tool updates and vendor relationships.
Streamline design processes and lead regular design reviews and office hours.
Stay current with design and tech trends across form factors.
