Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal Structural Engineer in Roy, Utah to support the Sentinel program and related facilities within a highly integrated team. You will analyze complex structural problems, develop models, and help improve launch vehicle and missile structures.

The role requires a US citizen with active DoD Secret Clearance; relocation assistance may be available. A strong MATLAB/Nastran background and proficiency with structural dynamics are essential.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
• 5+ years with BS; 3+ years with MS; 1+ year with PhD.
• Experience in structural dynamics analysis of spacecraft, aircraft or missiles.
• Proficient in MATLAB; experience with Nastran modal analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze structural engineering specs for metals, composites, and non-metals.
• Model structures and assess damage tolerance, durability, and design allowables.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress, design and test.
• Utilize CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and MATLAB for analysis.
• Support Sentinel program facilities and upgrades.
