Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to work on structural engineering specifications for complex air and space systems. The role supports the Sentinel program and may be located in Manhattan Beach, CA or Roy, Utah.

Candidates must have a DoD Secret clearance and strong experience in dynamics, static analysis and MATLAB. The position offers relocation assistance, opportunities for overtime and a discretionary bonus, and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or STEM required or Master’s degree with fewer years; PhD with 0 years.
• US Citizen with active DoD Secret Clearance and SAP eligibility.
• Experience with dynamic and static analysis; MATLAB proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, research and develop structural engineering specifications for product designs and analyses.
• Apply materials knowledge and modeling to assess damage tolerance, durability and design allowables.
• Utilize CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and other software tools as part of an integrated team environment.
