Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Austin, TX, to own the structural design and analysis of data center frames, enclosures, skids, and mounting structures. You will ensure compliance with ASCE 7, AISC 360 and ACI 318, and lead seismic qualification efforts for global deployments.

The role requires a US-licensed PE with 10+ years in structural engineering for industrial equipment and at least 3 years in data center design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering for industrial or infrastructure equipment with 3+ years in data center design.
• Demonstrated experience performing and certifying structural analyses for heavy equipment assemblies.
• Ability to independently own structural decisions and provide stamped deliverables if required.

Responsibilities

• Own structural design and analysis for data center power and cooling systems, including frames, enclosures, skids and mounting structures.
• Perform and review structural calculations for static, dynamic, seismic, transport, wind, snow, installation, and live load cases.
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards and jurisdictional requirements for global deployment.
• Lead seismic qualification efforts, including floor response spectra evaluation and anchorage requirements.
• Ensure structural CAD reflect design intent in drawings and documentation.
• Act as technical authority for regulatory and customer structural signoffs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to mitigate risks early.
• Support prototype builds and production ramp up with structural guidance.
