Job summary

Jabil in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Design Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and release of mechanical systems for server, storage, networking, and rack-level products. This role drives chassis and enclosure design, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability across the product lifecycle.

You will generate 3D models and 2D drawings, coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing, and ensure design robustness through tests and engineering changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of mechanical design experience.

Responsibilities

• Support chassis, brackets, enclosures, cable routing, labels, and structural components.
• Generate and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for development and release.
• Perform tolerance analysis, stack-up evaluation, and finite element analysis to improve design robustness.
• Support verification activities including fit tests and form/function reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers, operations, and manufacturing to improve producibility and cost.
• Track mechanical issues and drive corrective actions across development and sustaining phases.
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews with EE, Thermal, Firmware, and Systems teams.
