Job summary

Jabil in Austin, TX, is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design, fabrication, and integration of electrical systems for data center power and cooling products. This role spans full-stack electrical design from generator systems to PDUs, UPS, MV/HV distribution, and controls architecture.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in electrical design for data centers or industrial power, proficiency with ECAD tools, and a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical design and fabrication for data center or industrial power systems.
• Proficiency in ECAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical).
• Strong understanding of MV/HV power distribution and UPS systems.
• Experience with electrical analysis tools (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design and reviews for data center infrastructure.
• Interface with server hardware, controls engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Prepare BOMs, calculations, data sheets, and test plans.
• Ensure designs meet UL, IEEE, and other standards.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturing to transition designs to production.
