Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join our Palmdale team for a 2nd shift (4/10 schedule). The role focuses on stress analysis for airframe structures and requires the ability to evaluate assemblies with large FEMs using FEMAP, Nastran, Catia, NX and related tools.

The candidate should have a STEM degree and relevant experience and must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Master's in STEM with no years of experience.
• Ability to obtain US government Secret clearance.
• Experience with bonded composite structural analysis.
• Experience with FEMAP/Nastran/Catia/NX.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with other disciplines during the design development process.
• Present and explain structural issues and solutions to management and customers.
• Maintain and improve part designs, equipment, and systems for production deliveries.
• Develop practical solutions aligned with program objectives.
• Evaluate as-built products for compliance with standards and procedures.
• Utilize structural analysis methods and large Finite Element Models.
