Job summary

Echodyne is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to advance our next-generation radar software platform, enabling robust, real-time awareness for defense and automotive applications. You will architect solutions, collaborate across engineering, product, and UX, and drive production-ready systems from prototype to deployment.

You’ll mentor teams, shape API contracts, and ensure resilience and observability in demanding environments, with a focus on performance, security, and scalable software

Qualifications

• 7+ years building customer-facing, production-grade software systems.
• Experience with React front-ends and async back-end services (Tokio/Rust).
• Familiar with field/defense/automotive deployments or high-stakes systems.
• Proficient in Python and/or Rust and/or C/C++.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver core platform components: async backend services, APIs, real-time data models.
• Work with React/front-end teams to enable shared components and UI visualizations.
• Advance prototypes to production with well-tested endpoints and observability.
• Architect for resilience: handle connectivity, degradation, security, and offline scenarios.
• Improve CI/CD, testing (performance, contract/property), and instrumentation.
