Echodyne seeks a Principal Software Engineer to build the next-generation radar software platform. You will architect robust systems, collaborate across engineering, product, and UX, and ensure solutions perform in real-world environments.

You will drive production-grade endpoints, system observability, and resilience for defense and automotive applications, with a strong emphasis on security and scalable algorithms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building customer-facing, production-grade software systems.
• Modern full-stack expertise: React front-ends and async backend services (Tokio/Rust or similar).
• Strong experience with modular architectures, documented API contracts, and robust service lifecycles.
• Field/defense/automotive deployments or similar high-stakes, performance-critical systems.
• Hands-on with Python and/or Rust and/or C/C++ for practical, scalable solutions.
• Familiar with CI/CD practices, observability, and resilient system patterns.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver core platform components: async (Tokio/Rust) backend services, well-defined APIs, and real-time data/event models.
• Partner with React/front-end teams to enable shared components and healthy system visuals.
• Advance prototypes to production with well-tested, high-performance endpoints and observability.
• Architect for resilience: handle intermittent connectivity, degradation, and security hardening.
• Drive quality and velocity: refine CI/CD, testing, instrumentation, and SLO budgets.
• Mentor teammates and influence design through reviews and feedback integration.
