Job summary

Echodyne is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to advance our next-generation radar software platform for defense and automotive applications. You will architect robust solutions, collaborate across engineering, product, and UX, and ensure the system thrives in real-world conditions.

You will deliver real-time data models, APIs, and scalable endpoints, while mentoring peers and driving architectural excellence across teams in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building customer-facing, production-grade software systems.
• Experience with React front-ends and async backend services (Tokio/Rust or similar).
• Experience with modular architectures, documented API contracts, and robust service lifecycles.
• Designed for real-world constraints: field/defense/automotive deployments or similar high-stakes, performance-critical systems.
• Hands-on with Python and/or Rust and/or C/C++ for practical, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver core platform components: async backend services, APIs, and real-time data models.
• Partner with React/front-end teams to enable shared components and health visualizations.
• Transform prototypes to production with well-tested, observable endpoints.
• Architect for resilience including offline scenarios and security hardening.
• Refine CI/CD, testing, instrumentation, and SLOs; mentor peers and influence design.
