Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Development to join our team on site in San Diego, California or Grand Forks, North Dakota with a partial hybrid schedule.

In this role you will design, develop, integrate and test embedded and real-time software for end-user customers and mission-critical systems, working with multi-disciplinary teams in an Agile environment. Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 5+ years of related engineering experience OR Master’s with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year.
• Experience with the full SDLC.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with multi-threaded real-time software for flight/safety/mission critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test embedded and real-time software.
• Work with Systems Engineering, DevSecOps and Test teams in an Agile environment.
• Analyze system capabilities and resolve problems related to program intent and data handling.
• Lead software development across multiple baselines in an Agile team.
