Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Test to join our team on site in San Diego, CA or Grand Forks, ND with a partial hybrid schedule. The role focuses on testing embedded real-time software across the software lifecycle.

You will analyze requirements, design and execute automated tests, and collaborate across software, hardware and systems teams in fast-paced environments while adhering to safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM with 5+ years of related engineering experience, or Master’s with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year.
• Proven experience with Agile within the last 3 years.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience implementing software in one or more OO languages: C/C++, C#, or Java, and Python within the last 3 years.
• Experience with software change control, change management, and CI/CD tools (Atlassian suite, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Experience with testing methodologies and automated testing tools (GoogleTest, Robot, etc.).
• Experience with multi-threaded real-time embedded software or safety-critical systems.
• Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and program leadership.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements allocated to CSCI (software configuration items).
• Design, develop, maintain and execute automated tests for embedded software products.
• Collaborate with software developers and engineers to diagnose root causes found during tests.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Develop and execute automated installation, integration, and acceptance test procedures.
• Create detailed, concise technical documentation.
• Coordinate software integration planning and execution of components into a single system.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware teams in development and test environments.
