Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Development to design, develop, integrate, and test embedded and real-time software for end-user customers and programs. Work will involve architecture, development, and testing across multi-disciplinary teams in an Agile environment.

On-site options include San Diego, CA or Grand Forks, ND with a partial hybrid schedule. The role requires a clearance, strong C/C++/Python skills, and experience with SDLC and real-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of related engineering experience; or a Master’s with 3 years; or a PhD with 1 year.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with developing multi-threaded software for real-time embedded or flight/mission critical systems.
• Experience with two of the following tools: Jira, GitLab, Docker, Fortify, or Coverity.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced environment with diverse assignments and collaborative team settings.
• Participate in the full SW development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of SW products to customers.
• Operate in an embedded technology development environment with real time operating systems for flight and mission critical systems.
• Work in Agile Scrum teams to develop SW products for multiple SW baselines.
