Job summary

Extreme Networks, Inc. seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of core platforms that process vast network data and power AI experiences. You will shape scalable, secure, and observable distributed systems in a cloud-native environment.

The role reports to the Director of SW Systems Engineering and offers a full-time on-site position in Seattle, WA or San Jose, CA. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 8+ years across the full software lifecycle and 8+ years programming experience.
• 5+ years leading design of large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms.
• Experience in real-time microservices, stream processing, or large-scale analytics.
• Mentoring engineers and leading technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of core platforms and services processing large volumes of data.
• Power AI experiences across Extreme with scalable, secure, observable systems.
• Collaborate on cloud-native platforms and distributed data processing.
• Experiment with emerging technologies and deliver production-grade software and AI solutions.
