Job summary

Imagine Pediatrics is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to define and drive the technical security vision for protecting patients, data, and systems. You will partner with Engineering on DevSecOps and architecture while remaining hands-on with complex problems.

You will lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and strategy across AWS/Azure, with emphasis on HIPAA/HITRUST compliance. You will mentor engineers, guide incident response, and collaborate with clinical and product

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in CS/Info Security/Business/Management; advanced degree a plus
Licenses/certifications such as CISSP/CCSP/CISM/GIAC/AWS Security Specialty/MC Cybersecurity Architect are preferred
10+ years in security engineering/architecture roles, 5+ years in healthcare
Experience setting security strategy and aligning security with IT/engineering

Responsibilities

Set technical vision for security stack across endpoints, data, and analytics
Define cloud/identity security strategy across AWS and Azure/EntraID
Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling for systems and data platforms
Define DevSecOps strategy and standardize security gates in SDLC/CI-CD pipelines
Serve as on-call escalation for major security incidents and playbooks
Monitor evolving healthcare threat landscape and advise leadership
Document security posture for HITRUST, HIPAA, and NIST compliance
Mentor security engineers and drive learning culture
