Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced bridge and structure project manager capable of pursuing, capturing, managing, and delivering multiple projects for both public and private sector clients in bridge and structure asset management. This role primarily focuses on North America, with opportunities to support our broader global business with your expertise in bridge and structure asset management.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading client-facing bridge and structure asset management projects, including travel to client locations for technical meetings.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and technical lead in bridge and structure asset management, including making presentations at conferences and workshops.
  • Leading project teams, including directing, assigning, and reviewing work of technical staff.
  • Making independent administrative decisions regarding project direction and issue resolution.
  • Managing projects to ensure profitability, timely delivery, and client satisfaction, including projects involving Bridge Management System (BMS) software, preservation management, strategic investment planning, and inventory management.
  • Incorporating risk, resiliency, sustainability, safety, and equity into project delivery.
  • Ensuring quality assurance and client satisfaction.
  • Developing scopes of work, scheduling, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinating with subconsultants, inspectors, vendors, and team members.
  • Supporting account management and business development efforts.
  • Engaging with industry groups and presenting at events.
  • Developing and delivering presentations to support projects and business growth.
Candidate requirements:
  • Minimum 10+ years of project or program management experience in bridges or structures.
  • Experience in a leadership role at a public agency or consulting firm in asset management and engineering, with emphasis on bridge management, inspection, design, or load rating.
  • At least 5 years of experience with commercial asset management system implementation.
  • Proficiency with GIS, spatial data, database queries, and Civil Engineering degrees (BS/MS preferred).
  • PE licensure (NCEES certification preferred).
Additional skills and experience:
  • Knowledge of deterioration modes of bridge components.
  • Proficiency in project management principles.
  • Ability to secure advisory services across infrastructure organizations.
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
