Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced bridge and structure project manager capable of pursuing, capturing, managing, and delivering multiple projects for both public and private sector clients in bridge and structure asset management. This role will primarily focus on North America, with opportunities to support our broader global business with expertise in bridge and structure asset management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Serve as a client-facing project leader in bridge and structure asset management, leading technical meetings and developing business processes.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert and technical lead, representing Mott MacDonald at conferences and workshops, providing national leadership.
  3. Lead project teams, including directing and reviewing work of technical staff.
  4. Make independent administrative decisions regarding project direction and issue resolution.
  5. Manage projects to ensure profitability, timely delivery, and client satisfaction, including projects involving Bridge Management System (BMS) software, preservation management, strategic investment planning, and inventory management.
  6. Incorporate risk, resiliency, sustainability, safety, and equity into project management and delivery.
  7. Ensure quality assurance and client satisfaction across projects.
  8. Develop scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates.
  9. Coordinate with subconsultants, inspectors, vendors, and team members for successful project delivery.
  10. Support account management and client retention efforts.
  11. Assist in marketing activities, including conferences, client meetings, and promotional material updates.
  12. Engage with industry groups and represent Mott MacDonald at events, presenting as needed.
  13. Create and deliver presentations to support projects and business development.
Candidate experience requirements:
  • Minimum 10+ years in bridge or structure project/program management, capable of managing complex projects.
  • Experience in a leadership role at a public agency or consulting practice in bridge and structure asset management and engineering, including management, inspection, design, or load rating.
  • At least 5 years in commercial asset management system implementation or operation, focusing on decision development, performance modeling, treatment guidance, and system validation.
  • Experience with GIS, spatial data, databases, and spreadsheets is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
  • Professional Engineering licensure (NCEES certification preferred).
Desired skills and experience:
  • Knowledge of deterioration modes for bridge components.
  • Proficiency in project management principles.
  • Ability to secure advisory services across infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience chairing meetings and facilitating workshops.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
