About the Role

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced bridge and structure project manager capable of pursuing, capturing, managing, and delivering multiple projects for both public and private sector clients in bridge and structure asset management. This position will focus mainly on North America with opportunities to support the broader Mott MacDonald business worldwide with bridge and structure asset management expertise.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a client-facing, bridge and structure asset management project leader, traveling to client locations to lead technical meetings and develop business processes for managing bridge and structure assets.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert and technical lead in bridge and structure asset management, making presentations and providing national leadership at conferences and workshops.
  3. Lead project teams, including directing, assigning, and reviewing the work of technical staff.
  4. Work independently to make administrative decisions regarding project direction and issue resolution.
  5. Manage projects to ensure profitability, timely delivery, client satisfaction, and referenceability, including projects involving Bridge Management System (BMS) software, preservation management, strategic investment planning, and inventory management.
  6. Incorporate risk, resiliency, sustainability, safety, and equity into our bridge and structure asset management practices.
  7. Ensure quality assurance and client satisfaction on all projects.
  8. Develop scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates for projects.
  9. Coordinate with subconsultants, inspectors, software vendors, and team members for successful project delivery.
  10. Support account management to maintain client satisfaction.
  11. Assist in marketing efforts, including conference attendance, client meetings, and updating marketing materials.
  12. Engage with industry groups and agencies, presenting at events like TRB, AASHTO, and others.
  13. Develop and deliver presentations to support projects and business development.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years of project and/or program management experience in bridge or structure management.
  • Experience in a lead role at a public agency or consulting firm in asset management and engineering programs.
  • At least 5 years of experience with commercial asset management system implementation.
  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • Professional Engineering Licensure (NCEES certification preferred).
  • Knowledge of deterioration modes, inspection, design, and load rating for bridges and structures.
  • Experience with GIS, databases, and spatial data is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.
