Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines and aero engines, seeks a proactive Principal Project Engineer to lead a large Integrated Product Team in the Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) group. You will guide production and sustainment tasks, mentor engineers, and drive improvements across safety, producibility, and technical performance.

The role emphasizes leadership, problem solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or STEM field.
8+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years with an advanced STEM degree.
Strong leadership, communication, and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

Own IPT execution to meet task and technical requirements.
Identify and address project problems with data-driven solutions to optimize cost, schedule, and producibility.
Coordinate with IPT members across boundaries to respond to field, safety, and production issues and implement engineering changes.
Lead IPT and technical program reviews with customers and senior management; respond to questions and coordinate responses.
Track progress, identify risks, and manage budget to ensure smooth project operations.
Mentor and develop other Project Engineers; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Travel up to 10% within the US and Japan supply chain.
