Job summary

MISO is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer (EMS) to lead modernization efforts in the Operations Technology Integration team. The role requires bridging engineering and IT, mentoring engineers, and driving critical EMS initiatives to ensure reliable grid operations.

You will work on Energy Management System roadmaps, control room visualization, and synchro/phasor strategies while collaborating with R&D and grid operations teams to deliver practical solutions for the evolving electric

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 8+ years of utility/transmission/real-time operations experience.
• Proven experience with C++ or Python in production systems.
• Strong communication and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Bridge technical engineering needs with IT and leadership requirements.
• Lead modernization projects and contribute to EMS roadmap development.
• Mentor junior engineers and present updates to leadership.
• Collaborate with grid software vendors, IT, and operations teams to deliver practical solutions.
