Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electricity markets, grid operations, or energy management systems.
  • Hands-on software development in Java, C++, or .NET.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in Agile software development environments.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance, evolve, and support high-availability electricity market and grid management software applications.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot power systems application functionality.
  • Participate in software design, development, testing, implementation, and production support activities.
  • Create code fixes, model conversion tools, documentation, and user interface enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
  • Support software implementations and project delivery activities.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues impacting power system applications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software performance, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance, evolve, and support high-availability electricity market and grid management software applications.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot power systems application functionality.
  • Participate in software design, development, testing, implementation, and production support activities.
  • Create code fixes, model conversion tools, documentation, and user interface enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
  • Support software implementations and project delivery activities.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues impacting power system applications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Power Systems Analysis.
  • Experience with Power Systems Application Software Development and Implementation.
  • Knowledge of electricity markets, grid operations, or energy management systems.
  • Hands-on software development experience in one or more of the following:
    • Java
    • C++
    • .NET
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with:
    • Security Constrained Unit Commitment (SCUC)
    • Economic Dispatch
    • Mixed Integer Programming (MIP)
    • Optimization algorithms
    • Applied Mathematics or Operations Research
  • Experience supporting Energy Management Systems (EMS), grid software, or related utility applications.
  • Knowledge of grid modernization, stability, and integrated grid solutions.
  • The ideal candidate combines:
  • Deep understanding of power systems and electric utility operations.
  • Strong software engineering skills.
  • Experience developing or supporting grid, energy market, EMS, or power systems applications.
  • Ability to bridge engineering and software development disciplines.
