Job summary

MISO is seeking a Power System Operations Engineer I to join the Real Time Operations group. You will train to monitor EMS inputs, ICCP/SCADA data, and perform contingency analyses that support reliability across the Eastern Interconnection.

The role includes a 12-hour rotating shift and opportunities to work with operators and stakeholders to advance grid operations. Qualified candidates hold a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field and have programming experience in C, C++, VBA,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
• Experience in Utility, transmission operations, real-time operations, or a related field.
• Programming experience in C, C++, VBA, Perl, Python.

Responsibilities

• Learn to maintain the EMS and its inputs.
• Monitor inputs from ICCP and SCADA into the State Estimator.
• Obtain accurate contingency analysis study results and provide insights for reliability.
• Participate in projects that advance operations for the future.
