Job summary

Mercury Systems in Torrance, CA seeks a Principal Planner to lead end-to-end material planning for existing and new products, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal inventory.

You will develop rolling 24-month demand forecasts and coordinate with Program, Manufacturing, and Operations Planning. You will also manage BOM changes and mentor planning team members in S&OP and materials management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically requires 6+ years’ experience in planning and/or scheduling, inventory control in a manufacturing environment.
• Thorough understanding of MRP systems and SIOP process is preferred.
• Experience with electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Must read multilevel BOMs, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop final demand forecasts at multiple aggregation levels for the full-time horizon by channels and key accounts.
• Lead monthly S&OP development with sales for collaborative forecast.
• Provide training or leadership for team members and assign personnel to projects.
• Capture risk and develop mitigations; ensure accurate processing of customer demands.
• Cooperate with Materials Management to optimize inventory and reduce excess/obsolete stock.
