Job summary

Sky Limit Systems in Orange County, CA is seeking a Senior Planner to own planning for an assigned product line, coordinating materials, production requirements, and shipment schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.

This high-visibility role requires expert use of MRP, managing material shortages and production constraints in a fast-paced aerospace environment, and includes serving as a planning SME and guiding other planners across functions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of planning experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP systems and ERP.
• Ability to manage material shortages and shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own planning and material coordination for an assigned business unit/product line.
• Analyze customer orders and determine material requirements and availability, including castings, forgings, extrusions, and other components.
• Utilize MRP to identify requirements, shortages, material constraints, and allocation priorities.
• Develop comprehensive shipment plans and proactively expedite shortages through internal manufacturing operations and external suppliers.
• Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to resolve critical production and delivery requirements.
• Establish and communicate realistic shipment dates based on material availability and supplier lead times.
• Monitor supply flow, identify bottlenecks, and develop recovery plans to protect production schedules and revenue.
• Prepare planning and performance reports, including Line of Balance (LOB) and key milestone recovery reporting.
• Provide planning guidance and best-practice support to other members of the planning team.
• Support direct customer communication regarding planning activities as required.

We are seeking a Senior Planner to join a growing aerospace manufacturing organization in Orange County, CA. This individual will take ownership of planning activities for an assigned business unit/product line, coordinating materials, production requirements, and shipment schedules to ensure customer delivery commitments are met.

This is a highly visible role for an experienced planner who understands how to work through MRP, material shortages, production constraints, and changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Senior Planner will also serve as a subject matter expert within the planning team, supporting complex planning initiatives and providing guidance to other planners.

• Strong working knowledge of MRP systems and material requirements planning.
• Understanding of manufacturing/production processes, outside processing, and general procurement functions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage material shortages, competing priorities, and production schedule recovery.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Avante ERP and/or Infor LN Aerospace is a plus.
• APICS coursework or related supply-chain/planning training is highly desirable.
