Job summary

Stellant Systems in Torrance, CA is seeking a Material Planner to ensure the availability of materials to support production schedules and customer commitments while optimizing inventory.

You will coordinate MRP, monitor material flow, review BOMs, track shortages and delays with Purchasing, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience, ERP/MRP proficiency, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or production planning environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Excel.
• Ability to analyze demand data, forecasts, and material reports.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material requirements planning (MRP) to align with production schedules and customer demand.
• Monitor and manage material flow through the supply chain, ensuring timely availability for manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Receiving, and Stockroom to resolve material issues and support schedule attainment.
• Review bills of material (BOMs) for structure, accuracy, and planning parameters; recommend adjustments as needed.
• Track shortages and excess materials, partnering with Purchasing to expedite orders or mitigate risks.
• Monitor supplier delivery dates and work with the procurement team to resolve delays.
• Support new contracts and projects by managing material readiness and planning activities.
• Provide regular reporting on material status, shortages, and risks to internal stakeholders.
• Analyze demand and historical usage trends to improve forecasting accuracy and reduce shortages/excess.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, program priorities, and quality requirements.
