Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the team in Ashburn, VA, with a hybrid-remote arrangement requiring two days on-site weekly. The role focuses on designing and developing .NET applications, UI components, and middleware, with PostgreSQL integration and full development lifecycle responsibilities.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and has 9+ years in software development, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a DHS Public

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field.
• 9+ years of software development/engineering experience.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with middleware and UI-driven applications.
• Web services development and integration experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and multi-threaded programming skills.
• Experience with AWS and Agile development.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of an agile software development team in PI and Sprint ceremonies.
• Design and develop .NET applications including middleware and UI components.
• Develop and integrate with PostgreSQL databases.
• Create software design documentation and diagrams as needed.
• Utilize IDEs (Visual Studio, Git) for development and version control.
• Lead/perform software testing activities including data setup and defect resolution.
• Provide Tier 3/4 engineering support for production deployments.
