Job summary

Niyam IT is seeking a Principal Technical Architect to lead architectural direction across federal programs, mentoring engineers and shaping technical strategy. You will guide AI/ML integration into mobile and web apps, drive DevSecOps pipelines, and deliver scalable solutions from design through production in a hybrid onsite/remote environment in Northern VA.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Must be available to work onsite in Northern VA.
• 10+ years of professional full stack software development experience across frontend, backend, and API layers.
• Experience with two or more technologies listed in the skills section (Flutter, Angular, Spring Boot, Java, Python, JS/TS, Dart, iOS/Swift, Android).
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production applications (chatbots, AI features, etc.).
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle SQL) and REST/SOAP API integration.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and automated testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, secure software solutions.
• Define and uphold architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Design and implement modern web, mobile, cloud, API, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across the SDLC, including code reviews and mentoring.
• Drive AI/ML adoption, modern tools, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation, and IaC.
• Collaborate with product, security, platform, and ops teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
