Job summary

Thomson Reuters seeks a Principal Software Engineer to own architecture for large-scale, cloud-native enterprise systems. You will design and build production software in C#/.NET Core on AWS, modernize legacy apps, and guide multiple teams while staying hands-on.

You’ll drive AI/ML integration, microservices, and secure, reliable delivery with strong technical leadership. Travel to DC as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with Principal Engineer scope.
• Strong, hands-on C#/.NET Core engineering experience designing production software.
• Deep AWS production experience designing cloud-native, distributed systems.
• Experience modernizing legacy apps into scalable cloud-native architectures.
• Principal-level ownership of architecture and engineering decisions across teams.
• Hands-on delivery while providing technical leadership at scale.
• Experience with AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, or RAG is highly preferred.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, API gateways, and infra automation.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and system design for large‑scale production platforms.
• Design and build production software using C#/.NET Core and AWS.
• Lead modernization of legacy apps to cloud-native architectures.
• Influence architecture across multiple teams and provide technical direction.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices for delivery.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI/ML capabilities into products.
