Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems MQ-4 Triton Program seeks an Engineer Navigation or Principal Engineer Navigation to support the Vehicle Management System - Navigation team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The role covers integration of navigation hardware, lab and flight testing, and field support, with opportunities to work across development, production, and operations stages.

The candidate will ensure GPS/IMU/RF interconnections, collaborate with multiple teams, and handle proposals,

Qualifications

Bachelor's in STEM and 2+ years of experience or Master's in STEM with no experience.
Bachelor's plus 5 years (Principal) or Master's with 3 years or PhD with no experience.
Understanding of GPS, inertial sensors, RF devices and their interconnection.
Experience with MATLAB and Microsoft Office.
Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, or multimeters.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Integrate navigation hardware considering capabilities and redundancy.
Conduct investigations, system and flight testing in lab environments.
Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting for Production and Field issues.
Support proposal development, verification & validation, cost & risk analyses, and trade studies.
Translate customer or product requirements into total system solutions balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
