Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Engineer Navigation or Principal Engineer Navigation to support the Common Products - Navigation team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The role covers integration of GPS receivers, IMU, and RF equipment, with testing, flight work, and field support.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in STEM and 2+ years (or a Master’s with 0+ years) of experience, plus the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in STEM with 2+ years experience or Masters with no experience.
• Final US Government Secret clearance required.
• Understanding of GPS, inertial sensors, RF devices and how they interconnect.
• Experience with MATLAB and MS Office tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.

Responsibilities

• Integrate navigation hardware with interfaces and redundancy.
• Conduct investigations, system testing, and flight testing.
• Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting for Production/Field issues.
• Support proposal development, verification & validation, cost & risk analysis, and trade studies.
• Convert customer or product requirements into total system solutions balancing tech, schedule and cost.
