Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Microsoft 365 SharePoint Architect will be responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of our Microsoft 365 SharePoint environment, supporting the overall Digital Workplace productivity and collaboration goals of the organization. Team members of this role will work closely with the Service Desk to resolve user issues promptly. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensure seamless collaboration and productivity across the organization. Responsibilities include SharePoint Administration, development via the Microsoft Power Platform including PowerAutomate, PowerApps, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the Microsoft 365 SharePoint environment, including site collections, permissions, and user access.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide resolutions to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Design and implement SharePoint site collections based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Implement and maintain SharePoint workflows, document libraries, and other collaboration tools.
  • Develop and implement custom SharePoint features and functionalities, such as custom web parts, PowerAutomate workflows, PowerApps, and custom forms, using technologies like JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and PowerShell.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to ensure seamless integration with other Microsoft 365 services, such as Teams and OneDrive.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for SharePoint usage, governance, and data security.
  • Provide end-user training and support to enhance adoption and productivity.
  • Plan and execute migration of existing content to SharePoint and manage site lifecycle.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot using tools like the Microsoft 365 admin center and PowerShell scripts.
  • Ensure security measures to protect sensitive data and compliance with standards.
  • Provide seamless experiences and self-service management capabilities for users.
  • Act as a resource/mentor for colleagues with less experience.
  • Work independently, with guidance only in complex situations.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 SharePoint Architect, including Teams and OneDrive.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Experience with SharePoint permissions management, including security groups and M365 groups.
  • Experience with creating and managing Teams-connected sites and Communication sites.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience with PnP or SharePoint Online PowerShell.
  • Eliciting customer requirements and designing/implementing solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Microsoft Certified: M365 Admin, M365 Apps (SharePoint, Teams).
  • Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years’ experience or an equivalent level of experience in lieu of degree/experience.

Travel

Occasional travel to MTSI offices and events throughout the country.

Clearance

Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.
