Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Specialist to join our Production Control team in Goleta, CA. This role aligns material availability, production schedule, and contractual requirements in MRP and Shop Floor Control systems.

The successful candidate will manage procurement, inventory traceability, and readiness, partnering with Engineering and IPTs to support refurbishment, depot activity, and on-time delivery. This onsite position offers growth within a leading aerospace and defense company.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
• Experience in planning, scheduling, production control, supply chain, or related manufacturing environments.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive and induct customer and government furnished products into MRP and inventory systems; manage end-to-end returns and refurbishment.
• Kit replacement hardware to customer return units; coordinate with Engineering on material requirements and program sell-offs for refurbishment.
• Initiate procurement via timely purchase requisitions; collaborate with Supply Chain for uninterrupted material flow.
• Maintain inventory traceability, configuration accountability, and material control throughout repair and modification lifecycles.
• Perform hardware cycle counts; verify sub-assembly availability at point of use; support line readiness.
• Set production priorities with factory leadership and communicate status to IPTs and stakeholders.
• Walk between buildings on campus to support production and material movement; lift up to 25 pounds.
