Job summary

RTX, a global aerospace and defense leader, seeks a Principal Specialist in Procurement to manage strategic subcontracting for production and R&D. You will collaborate across IPTs and suppliers, leveraging ERP systems to drive material outcomes and ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR.

Your role emphasizes price analyses, negotiations, and keeping programs on track while interfacing with senior stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery of requirements.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience reading and understanding drawing specifications.
• Experience in cost and price analysis, including developing negotiation strategies and leading formal negotiations.
• Experience with FAR and DFAR regulations.
• U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and administer subcontract types (Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursement, Time and Materials) for production and R&D.
• Collaborate with material program management and engineering to define procurement strategies.
• Monitor subcontractor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare and manage subcontract documentation in compliance with FAR/DFAR and company policies.
• Analyze complex supply chain challenges and develop alignment with organizational goals.
• Plan and execute procurement tasks independently to meet program requirements.
• Serve as a key liaison with internal/external stakeholders on cross-functional initiatives.
