Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer / Principal Process Engineer for the Advanced Interconnects and Multilayer Solutions (AIMS) manufacturing cell. The role develops and optimizes processes to fabricate RF hardware and discriminatory products, while guiding tooling and process automation.

The candidate will lead process development, provide ROI justification for improvements, and help ensure production readiness. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-layered circuit boards.
  • Experience with drilling, CMM, and routing processes.
  • DOE, SPC, and 6-sigma concepts for process development.
  • GD&T proficiency.
  • Fluency in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes with focus on affordability.
  • Create and manage project plans for process development activities.
  • Provide ROI justification for process improvements.
  • Specify and procure new manufacturing equipment for production readiness.
  • Develop and optimize process parameters.
  • Develop/revise process documentation and work instruction.
  • Monitor process yields, cost, and process stability and capability.
  • Recommend and implement quality improvements based on metrics.
  • Create, validate and maintain automatic equipment programs.
  • Solve manufacturing problems related to materials, designs, equipment, people.
  • Assist with training of new personnel and design operator training materials.
  • Support factory maintenance with troubleshooting and repair of process equipment.
  • Suggest product design improvements for producibility of advanced microelectronics.
  • Document state-of-the-art process capabilities and guidelines for designers.
  • Participate in design producibility reviews for new products.
